Summer 2009 update:
Sweet, shy Cinnamon just loves being on her ranch.
She browses out in the valley or up the mesa with her buddies, lays
under the juniper trees to chew her cud, and occasionally wanders over
to the buck pen to flirt with the boys. She does a great job in
the milking parlor and loves getting attention from her people.
July 2008 update:
Cinnamon grows more beautiful each year.
She is sweet and productive, and we just love having her around.
July 2007 update:
Cinnamon is a gorgeous girl – she has a
friendly face, great body capacity, excellent dairy character, and she is
a very strong milker. She still has a hint of shyness about her, yet a
determination that allows her to push into the milking parlor when it’s
her turn to be milked, or to push up close to her person if she needs
extra loving. Cinnamon kidded with triplets this spring, gave lots of colostrum, and
is now milking like the pro that she is.
July 2006 update:
Can a new
milker be any cuter than this girl? We doubt it. Cinnamon is still a bit
shy and easily confused. But she’s learned to come into the parlor and wait
for the other more boisterous goats to push by her. Then she waits for
Kathryn to show her where her stand is and she dutifully jumps up onto it.
No, we don’t move the furniture to confuse her, she just likes to be sure.
Once on the stand, she munches her grain and gives lots of wonderfully rich
milk. She really likes the animal crackers that she gets on her way out the
door – which she finds with no problem, all by herself.
More background on Cinnamon (2005)
Cinnamon is a gorgeous brown with brown ears and black trim, almost like
her mom but just a little lighter. Cinnamon is a little less outgoing than
some of the other kids, but she does sneak up for some loving when the
rowdier bunch are busy elsewhere. She’s getting less shy though, and soon
will be demanding as much attention as possible.
