Spring 2018:
Detroit freshened beautifully with triplets. She is now in Wyoming making lots of milk for the nice folks at Spotted Dairy Air
Summer 2017:
Sadly, Detroit lost her pregnancy early this year and as a result she is dry. She started putting on too much extra weight due to not working in the milking parlor, so she and a few other dry does ended up in the “Jenny Craig” pen where they are on a diet to keep them in shape for being bred later this year. We sure hope that Detroit will kid next year with no problems. She is a very nice milker.
Summer 2016:
Detroit earned her milking star in all three categories as a yearling. This year is a doing even better. However, we did have to tie down the grain dish on her milking stand since she loves to throw it around once it is empty. Due to that habit, her nickname (usually "Little D") in the milking parlor is now "Fiddle-Dee".
Congratulations to Detroit for earning her Superior Genetics Title!
Summer 2015:
Detroit kidded with a singleton doeling and went to work making milk. She is a fun doe and will be a very nice milker once she matures.
Detroit has been named as an Elite Doe by the USDA!
Summer 2014:
Detroit’s mom, Brill, had quadruplet doelings this year! We were greedy and kept two of them – Detroit and Snowflake. Soon after that we found out that an older, full sister to these kids, Tally, was named Top Ten Breed Leader for being one of the 10 most productive Nubians in the country! Wow, Detroit has a lot to live up to. She is so busy running around being a kid that we haven’t told her yet. However I’m pretty sure that she will figure it out on her own.
